The NEW Digital SAT
The exam still focuses on four main areas of math:
- Algebra (13-15 questions)
- Advanced Math (13-15 questions)
- Problem Solving and Data Analysis (5-7 questions)
- Geometry and Trigonometry (5-7 questions)
What's DIFFERENT?
- The exam will be administered electronically on a personal device or a school-issued device
- The "Sections" are now called "Modules". There are 2 Modules total.
- The math module is an adaptive style . What does this mean? In a nutshell, your performance on Module 1 will determine the questions generated for the Module 2
- Calculators will be allowed for the entire math section
- Exam scores will be available within a few days, rather than weeks

ACT
The ACT Math section is a 60 minute section with 60 questions. An approved calculator may be used. Math topics include a broad range of topics from pre-algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, trigonometry, plane geometry, and coordinate geometry. Questions have a much more straightforward approach to math. All questions are multiple choice.
*ACT Math and Science changes coming in 2025 for the new digital exam:
- 45 questions to be completed in 50 minutes
- Science section will be optional
- There will be 4 multiple choice answer selections instead of 5
- There will be no experimental section (formerly Test 5)

What about the PSAT / NMSQT?
Juniors in high school: Not only does the Preliminary SAT / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test help you prepare for the SAT, but you can also possibly earn National Recognition for your score on the PSAT /NMSQT. It is administered in October and I recommend starting prep for this exam during the summer before junior year.
GRE Quant
The GRE Quantitative Reasoning section tests your understanding and interpretation of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis. There are 4 main question types: multiple choice (with one answer choice), multiple choice (with one or more answer choices), quantitative comparisons, and numeric entry.
GMAT Quant
The GMAT Quantitative section tests your problem solving and data sufficiency skills in arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. Questions will be in multiple choice form. Note that the GMAT Quant section utilizes CAT (Computer Adaptive Testing). This means that correct or incorrect answers will determine future questions.
When should I start preparing?
My comprehensive course is typically taught within a 5-8 week period before the SAT and ACT exams. GRE and GMAT preparing should begin approximately 3 months before the exam. My coaching is comprised of 60 or 90 minute sessions that sufficiently cover critical math topics, organizational skills, and test-taking strategies.
How many sessions do I need?
Each and every student is different. I recommend at least 10-20 hours for a complete review. I offer my concierge coaching service starting with 10 sessions.
One-On-One Private Coaching
Different exams require a different way of thinking. I work with students one-on-one via video conferencing throughout the United States. I provide a diagnostic exam that helps me cater my prep just to you. I teach awareness and mastery of strategies specific to each exam and stay up to date with the ever-changing exam structures. I build a personalized study plan for every student.
What is the SAT QAS and ACT TIR?
The College Board offers the Question and Answer Service in the US in March, May and October. It includes a copy of the test you took as well as the correct answers and scoring information. The ACT Test Information Release is available for the April, June and December exams in the US. The QAS and TIR can be ordered during registration or up to 5 months (SAT) and 3 months (ACT) after the exam.
